The Inspired Whistleblower
For the past five or so years I have had a gathering sense that we are on the brink of something spectacular.
It is not by coincidence that I choose the word “spectacular”, the same word used by Homeland Security to describe pending Al Qaeda attacks…or a word that could be used to describe the birth of a child, the discovery of the Human Genome or the viewing of Hubble space probe pictures.
Future historians will debate the final context of the events which shape Our Time…But I believe most of us can agree this has been an amazing period of revelations.

The Presidential election in 2000 ending up in “The Supreme Court” and giving the appearance that judges and not the people determined the outcome of the “Greatest Democracy’s” election…when a closer look revealed that 45% of eligible Americans including me, didn’t bother enough to vote.
To countless corporate and church scandals giving pause and closer scrutiny to blind faith in Our leadership…and the Purposes they have failed to Serve.
Or when Nature’s Fury was unleashed; first the Tsunami, then Katrina and several massive earthquakes showed that Americans are a most giving people and at the same time a very unequal people…as American citizens on American streets proved that “refugee” is a status symbol too.
The World witnessed Our National shame at Abu Graib…AND shame on American “leaders” who attempted to excuse Our Role in torture.
Seemingly lesser but still critical issues emerged. Such as how steroid use threatened the sacred and equal playing field of sport. A place where principles of self-expansion could be practiced and self-trust tested. Where future contributions of newly “strong” participants are recognized and new expectations formed into shared lessons for us all…gave way to the over “achievement” of cheaters and frauds.
While Rush Limbaugh, exposed as an abuser of prescription drugs became just another notable symbol of a Nation with newly gotten excess, bursting at the seam with hypocrites and demagogues.
And as a poetic back drop…Both political parties continue to sure up their base. While a once inspired Nation desperately tries to hold onto its moral authority, as it slowly loses the footing for which it is based.
Some believe God is sending us a message. It is not my intent to make such an assertion although I will not disparage the views of those who do. Some will argue that considering the connectedness of such events is foolish. I can respect that opinion as well.
Surely at the very least we can all agree that technology creates amazing reach and speed for those who desire to expose and fight injustice…at any level and in any country. As technology empowers a new breed of righteous observers…the term “whistleblower” has taken on an inspired meaning.
Make no mistake I believe…Filth is being purged, Hypocrisy Revealed and Inequality called to an End. One thing is certain; this is a bad time to perpetuate fraud in this New Age of Intellectual and Emotional Freedom…
Government, Corporate, Cultural and Spiritual Leaders be on Notice:

Today is October 3, 2006 as I watch the unfolding furor over US Representative Mark Foley’s disgraceful resignation from Congress…which on so many levels was enabled by technology.
This news excerpt says it all: “Florida Department of Law Enforcement announced it would join the FBI in an investigation into whether Foley violated a law that he helped write as co-chairman of the Congressional Missing and Exploited Children’s Caucus.”
Foley…a conservative Republican in all his stature and standing chose to use technology to facilitate the spiritual and perhaps physical rape of underage boys. But he soon found the same technology that made his filth seem anonymous and without consequence… also made him and his evil purposes transparent to the world.
And...
Today is November 5, 2006 two days before Colorado votes on a referendum to ban gay marriage... and it is three days since Reverend Ted Haggard, head of the Colorado based National Association of Evangelicals, (an umbrella group representing more than 45,000 churches with 30 million members) first denied accusations of elicit gay sex and illegal drug use. Today is worthy of special attention because “The Reverend” finally confessed his immoral sex, illegal drug purchases...and blatant hypocrisy.

One day after Al Gore wins Academy Award for “An Inconvenient Truth”...an inconvenient truth about his $30,000 a year energy bill hits the internet.
And...
Amid his candidacy to end poverty...Candidate Edwards reimburses his campaign $800 for two haircuts
And…
Today is Monday August 20, 2007 and NFL Quarterback Michael Vick agrees to plead guilty to Federal Dog Fighting charges…meaning an end to his 120 million dollar contract and to his fleeing from charging linebackers.
